MS Office login error after motherboard replacement

09/04/2025 / Tutorials, Windows / By Rudolf-Jan Říčka

After migrating the OS to different hardware, the stored keys in the TPM are lost. In this case, it is not possible to sign in to M365 applications, and the guaranteed solution is as follows:

  1. Boot to Safe Mode
  2. Rename the following folder:
C:\users$dir\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy

to:

C:\users$dir\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy.old
