Add DTS support to Synology

Synology is fantastic thing, but sometimes if you add video it will have DTS audio track and DS Video/Synology can not play it.

Because licence problem Synology do not have DTS support from factory but there is way how to install DTS codec anyway.

Download DTS package

You can download DTS package from this Mega: https://mega.nz/#F!wzgl3arK!CdpnCIk5UyqguePDNPaisw

For right file you can consult this article :

https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/wiki/Architecture-per-Synology-model

Install DTS package

  1. Open your DSM
  2. Package center -> Settings -> Trust Level -> Tick Any Publisher
  3. Package center -> Manual install -> Select downloaded package -> Finish install
  4. Refresh page
  5. Now it is possible to run DTS with no proble

Have a nice day 🙂

  1. Thanks for your post. I have ds218+ and so should download apollolake. However it is not present in the mega link. I looked for it on google but it’s not clear to me, is there any chance you can help me on how to get it? many thanks

    1. Hi, this post is quite old, older than 218+ you probably should search more about this on google or Synology community forums.I’m sorry but I can’t help you.

  2. As my DS418j is powered by a Realtek RTD1293 SoC i’am unsure whether one of the spk’s is working for me. Any suggestion which one i should give a try?
